Kanye..Kanye..Kanye…

I’ll admit it. I am obsessed with the lives of celebrities, yet I am also one of those people that wonder why our society is  fascinated in the lives of celebrities.  Growing up right outside of Los Angeles, I have been exposed to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, and also the not-so glitzy parts of Hollywood.  And with the excitement of what happened this past week at the VMA’s makes me ask myself a question that I am ever so eager to answer…Why is it that celebs receive special treatment, and why do they feel as if they are entitled to it?

O.k. so let me do a quick recap of what went down at the VMA’s (just in case you have been living under a rock these past few days) Cute country teen singer Taylor Swift was in the middle of making her acceptance speech for winning best music video, when out of nowhere Kanye West appears and sticks his face into the mic saying that the real winner of the best video award should have went to Beyonce.  The moment he made a fool of himself everyone got quiet.  Beyonce was stunned, along with an awkward moment between Mr. West and Taylor Swift.

Ummm..rude?

You would think kanye would be embarrased, however he didn’t seem to show any signs.  Perhaps its because of my whole theory on how celebs feel it is o.k to blurt out nonsense rude things to all of America because well…they are celebrities.

Lets not forget this is the same Kanye that told NBC back in 2005 post Hurricane Katrina, that I quote, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIUzLpO1kxI Now, I know Kanye is not the only celeb that has said compeltely rude and unnecesarry things on TV..more examples to come. Tune in next week.
